The mom lied. The kid was a celebrity on "4Chan" the very site that tried to kill this one. So much for digging. Now you all look like lemmings. Jumping on anything without looking into the facts.
Someone needs to edit that digg and give the link to the real story. Critical thinking loss belongs to sheep. Logical and commonsense dictates that once the real story surfaces its time to shut-down the lie.
Let me put it to you this way. The mom is like the government and her son's arrest like oh, the Gulf of Tonkin. She said the Vietnamese attacked her son under the patriot act. So we, the citizens, say yes lets go after the Vietnamese. Later on we find out that there was no attack and that she lied to us in order to pull at our heart strings to do her dirty work.

Listen to his phone call and tell me that wasn't a threat against the lives and innocents that attended that school. He got caught and the mom lied to protect her precious.
What would you do if you answered that phone and knew that 13000 people rested on your actions and perceptions of what the bomber was attempting to do.

without due process. Without a legitimate trial, it's all just speculation. That's the reason the patriot act is such a big deal, it strips normal due process rights.
If he is not being held under the patriot act, then he will get a reasonably fair trial.
Also, it would be inaccurate to say 4chan "attacked" the daily paul. 4chan is an anonymous message board. It's quite possible that someone posted something on 4chan calling for an attack on the dailypaul with a link to the website. Anyone can post anything on 4chan.

However I have to say the "spin" piece actually is a good thing in regards to educate people what the Patriot Act is capable of doing under these circumstances. We'll probably get roped into something like this again BUT at least we look at the evidence and retract with egg on our faces and all. We're only human after all I don't apologize for my mistaken belief but I'm glad to have the true situation illuminated. You're such a little butt kicker! ; )

But, that in no way, can excuse the "Patriot Act" abuses by gov't.
This should be handled in normal channels by a juvenile court procedure, if they even have to go that far.

being held as a terrorist under the Patriot Act. Yet his mother said he was and WRAL reported it that way.

but the Interstate Commerce Act gives the government free reign over the states (and the people), through this law. The (fed) government uses this law as a nexis to trump state and local law. OK a bright kid doing not so bright things and kicking the rattle snake bare foot to show off and make money. Sounds like a kid I'd like to educate and have on our side. Nevertheless the Patriot Act has sequestered him away and taken his rights away. If the above article is true then all the more reason for this to be outed among the public. He does deserve to be spanked but where's his right to due process. If this were my son I would have been saying this from the get go. This is another disease I see among parents in this culture. They do not believe their kids should be responsible for their actions. I see it all the time.

Latest reports are that he is NOT being held under the Patriot Act. He has a court-appointed lawyer, and has been before a judge several times. Furthermore, he is an utterly vile little pipsqueak. I've listened to some of his prank calls on YouTube. You've got to wonder what kind of upbringing he had.

That is why I always wait now for the "rest of the story." I have been guilty in the past of thinking anything on Daily Paul is 100%. Nope, we are just people too, and we don't get all the facts here any sooner than the rest of the world. People love to berate law enforcement. The people will suffer "blowback" from law enforcement for their overly quick stance against law enforcement. Better to keep an even hand.

Why is "homeschooled" part of the title? What difference does it make?
Because homeschoolers are being targeted by the govt?
Typically, people homeschool their kids because they don't want them drinking the p.s. koolaid, which means the kids aren't brainwashed, which makes them automatic threats to the status quo lowlifes.
It makes a difference because this kid could very possibly be being used to send a chilling message throughout the homeschool community.
Besides, you watch this ... the homeschool community across the nation will take action. The stooges running this country ain't seen nuthin yet! They just stepped into a nest of rattlesnakes.
Is there any proof
the youngster and his family were targeted because of homeschooling? Let's be careful not to send a message that the Patriot Act will only be used to persecute a small minority. We are all in danger depending on who happens to be in power.
This is not the first one
A very similar story happened to a homecshool kid where I live, I commented on it earlier. I don't think they are targeting homeschoolers, but when they find out that the kid is homeschooled I think that ratches up their enthusiasm to bust them.
If you want to hear some real Liberty minded people, attend a Homeschool convention. They all generally come complete with seminars about how to defend your 4th amendment rights. Ever since we decided to homeschool my love for my liberty continues to increase!

I am seeing something like this "over reaching" of the feds every week now.
I believe a "screw you" precedent by the feds is escalating. It will have to stop or the abuses will grow larger and more flagrant and perhaps get so out of control that there will be more and more "gunfights" of citizen on feds occurring around the nation. This is not how our country is supposed to be but, we have to defend ourselves from common criminals to over reaching federal puppets no matter what.
