Fake Blimp Pledges
I have to agree with the other person here who warned of false pledges for the blimp. If you look at the pledges most of them make sense, the most pledges for the smallest amount and then with increasing amounts, fewer pledges. Until you get to the 5,000 pledge, then it jumps. That defies logic. I would estimate the number of legitimate 5,000 pledges to be between 2 and 10.
I also agree with the poster who made a point about 25 dollar donations to Pauls campaign. The more a person can give the better, but I personally believe 100,000 ten dollar donations are far better than 200 five thousand dollar donations.
For those of you who can only donate 25 or 50 dollars to Paul's campaign, I will compliment that with a larger donation. I'm only at a thousand so far so I get to make a big impact on Nov. 30th and Dec. 16th. What is more important, and I'm sure everyone agrees, is that each of us bring another two people on board.
The $5,000 pledges are probably legit
You get a guaranteed ride on the blimp for a couple days if you give $5,000. The lower contribution levels only get you into a lottery for a limited number of tickets to ride on the blimp. I'd say that the extra incentive explains the jump in $5,000 donations.
What's next?
How about we hire the Russians to launch a rocket into geosynchronous orbit towing a mile long reflective mylar banner that will reflect the sun at night.

Come on Ron Paul supporters, you're killing the other candidates! What an effort, look at the financial support in just a couple days time. An incredible idea......the other candidates are shaking their heads wondering "what's next" with the Ron Paul campaign? They are really wondering "what the hell is going on here". They can't "harness" the internet. Very few people show up at their rallys (unless fed a free meal). Nobody cares to show up for their meetup groups. They have negative YouTube pieces. Mitt Romney has to loan himself money for his campaign. Hillary's getting swiped by everybody. The country doesn't trust the backgroud of Osama Obama. Fred is sleepwalking. Rudy has more skeletons in the closet than dresses. Huckabee is being propped up by the controllers as a diversion to Ron Paul-because THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO!
What an opportunity for those $5000 donators! That should be an awsome ride in the Good Ship Ron Paul! I can hardly wait to see what's next. Go get 'em Ron!

The extra pledges will probably be collected on to help guarantee that the $350,000 mark is reached in real money terms (rather than just pledges). Excess money collected would probably either be used to purchase a few extra flying hours or returned to the donors.

The way this project has come together by unpaid, creative volunteers is incredibly uplifting.

What I have read is that foreign donors can not (or is it "should not", in order to avoid appearance of illegality & later problems?) donate to PACs for a single candidate. However, they can donate to PACs created to support several candidates (known as multi-candidate PACs supporting 5+ candidates I think).
I don't have an official link for that last info so I can't confirm it. Anyone else?
Not only is it illegal, but anyone who encourages it can face fines AND criminal prosecution.
So I'm sure they checked with someone specializing in election law (or if not they should!)

That is my interpretation also. I just don't want this to come back and bite us later. Everything will be fine until it looks like Ron will win, then the vipers will come out. You can count on that.
I set up a chipin for a Pro Liberty Balloon Tour to try to give foreigners a way to support Dr. Paul's ideas without mentioning him specifically. Zero interest.. Either bringing a balloon to schools and rallies is a bad idea or foreigners and maxed out Americans only want to promote something that has his name directly attached to it. (something foreigners cannot do apparently)
If the blimpies pull this off and the route comes through CT, I'll try to fly my Ron Paul banner balloon with it in formation. Maybe we can get a live air to air webcast going.

This is a great idea and I wanted to be a part of it, and yes that probably means a couple hundred less to the official campaign.
But we are getting the job done - getting the name "Ron Paul President" out there, and once again showing people how passionately we believe in Ron Paul and the message.
My humble opinion.

What an excellent idea and at a competitive price. Image...a Ron Paul blimp flying over major events and cities in the buildup to the primaries. There is little doubt that the impact would be very large and cause the MSM to be surprised once again at the power of the Ron Paul revolution.

Can somebody please post the link to the FEC document that allows foreigners to donate to a US political action committee?
I must have missed it. I thought foreigners could support issues but not specific candidates.
If this blimp PAC is wrong about that fact, there could be trouble down the road.

I personally don't care if someone has the money and already maxed out their donations to Dr. Paul, spend your money how every you wish. But for those like myself that struggle to give what we can Please Donate to Dr. Paul. The Hucksters wiped Dr. Paul today in fund raising by over $35,000.00. With the 20k to 40k Dr. Paul is getting in fund raising he won't have the funds to run for dog catcher little alone the Top Seat of our Country. If this works out maybe rent more than one. One for the east, one for the midwest and one for the west.
That way many more of the upcoming bowl games can be covered.
It would only cost a little over one million. If $4.2 can be raised in one day and that all came from Ron Paul supporters in the US. Think of what can be raised from worldwide Ron Paul supporters.
