Just came across this short article about ATMs that dispense gold instead of cash. Too bad they are only available in Europe.

Automatic teller machines (ATMs) — 500 of them — dispensing pieces of gold will be available around Germany, Switzerland and Austria by the end of this year.
That at least is the plan of German precious metals online trading company TG-Gold-Super-Markt.de. The ATMs, to be located at airports, railway stations and shopping malls, are intended to accustom ordinary people to the idea of investing in a physical asset such as gold, the thinking goes.

That is amazing.
Makes you wonder how they will get away with this since the bankers are not thrilled with people using gold? Hmmm, I guess I am getting suspicious of everything anymore. Is there any reason the BANKERS would want people to turn to gold?
good idea!!
It would be hard to steal an atm machine because the damn thing would weigh too much.

Gold ATMs
this will probably end the central banks faster than anything we do. we should start the gold atm business in the united states.
