Everybody understands the term---it works, it comunicates.
And we invented it!

There are times for comprimise during a campaign,
no doubt, but I think this term worked because it
works on many levels. Even the radical association
works on the level of showing that we will support

I know I'm just bumping this thread but I see it on the top and just wonder why people even respond to this kind of stuff. The phrase "money bomb" has had other usages in the past, but the coinage of "moneybomb" or "money bomb" to describe a coordinated mass donation drive for a political candidate came to prominence in 2007, during the campaign of American presidential candidate Ron Paul. His supporters initiated multiple grassroots fundraising drives;

New York City musician Jesse Elder is said to have coined the usage of "moneybomb" for such an event Elder registered the new YouTube identity "RonPaulMoneyBomb" at YouTube on October 14, 2007,and active-duty service member Eric Nordstrom registered the dotcom domain on October 16,which claims to be the first moneybomb site. A large moneybomb involving over 35,000 donors and organized by Trevor Lyman took place on November 5, 2007, Guy Fawkes Day.

The fundraising drive raised over $4.2 million in one day, making it at that time the largest one-day Internet political fundraiser ever, and was backed largely by new or disaffected voters.After this, news media such as CNN began widely reporting the term "money bomb" to refer to the event. This has been debated and hashed over since I've been on daily paul (1 year and 39 weeks) and quite frankly, I'm stinking sick of it and your incessant whining....

It is quit obvious to anyone with even 2 brain cells to connect together that YOUR SIDE LOST that debate (since we are still freely and without negative effects, using that phrase). Get that through yur thick skull and go whine somewhere else. All yur doing is poking the pile of dog doo with a sharp stick, and THAT my wee brained friend is good for no one.

I also think phone b... is the wrong phrase; and I'd love to see this community apply a bit of its wonderful creativity to come up with fresh, zinging alternatives to money b... too. Jon below had some good thoughts,

We need more bombs-infobombs, peacebombs, rallybombs, phonebombs, emailbombs-if people don't get it or misinterpret it they're ignorant.
