YouTube Debate Kind of a Sham

Apparently the MSM thinks that the American people are smart enough to ask questions, but they're not smart enough to determine which ones should take center stage.

From Wired Magazine:

As Republican presidential contenders brace for Wednesday's CNN-YouTube debate, the executive in charge of the event is unapologetic about his decision to put mainstream journalists in charge of deciding which user-contributed YouTube videos the candidates will actually face on the air.

For all the talk about online voter empowerment, the web is still too immature a medium to set an agenda for a national debate, says CNN senior vice president David Bohrman.

worst yet

worst debate ive seen yet. only redeeming factor was watching rudy and romney nuke each other...
out of the 3 or 4 they actually let speak, i think mccain "won" this one... only of course because they never included ron in anything.

A sham... you think so?!

One good thing about the debate is it showed American's what a scumbag Rudy really is.

His exchange with Romney on immigration is priceless. Right after Rudy made the "sanctuary mansion" comment, you could hear the trembling in his voice... as if in the back of his head he's thinking: "damn, how do I get out of this mess?"

"Kind of a sham"?...

...more like a total sham.

RP is leading in the CNN poll

Now watch how that will be downplayed and poo pooed by the usual tactics. "Spammers and kooks flood CNN poll"," RPs huge internet following swamps our poll" I am tempted to go to CNN to check the spin but I have sworn to myself never to frequent that globalist tool website again. If I ever go to CNN again may my pc melt down.

Debate

As usual Ron got the least amount of time for questions and answers, and Mitt and Rudy put on their usual slick performance, with a little help from Thompson and McCain, to steal the show. Ron did end strong though which I was pleased to see. It's all a sham and most of us realize it. It scares me to death to think most Americans may be falling for this nonsense.

I believe this is done

so that the "top tier" candidates will get their lion's share of the questions. It's typical. Ron Paul directed questions probably has the vast majority of submissions, but the MSM must push their "top tier" candidates. It's "You Decide" remember? ;)

It's okay though. Hopefully RP will be well rested for this event and able maximize his relatively few opportunities to answer questions.

What to really watch for in the debate:

I expect Mike Huckabee to get more questions this time around...it's about that time for the MSM to produce a "darkhorse" candidate. All the other front runners are finished in my opinion and the MSM may be starting to realize the same. This is going to be a huckster vs. spammers primary.

You can check this too

http://ronpaulgraphs.com/...

The graphs show how the MSM has begun building Huckabee up since October...not quite as well as we are doing, but I see the Huckster as a bigger threat to us than any of the top tier candidates. The problem with Huck is that he is as able a liar as Bush was during his 2000 campaign.

Who knew then that Bush would preach a humble foreign policy and no nation building, woulc go on to become one of the most neo-con Presidents in our history. And I see alot of that deception in Huckabee as well. Fool me once(Bush), shame on you....fool me twice...ahhhh not gonna happen Huckster. I have learned how to check voting records, and you politicians can't get your lies past me anymore. :)

4,000 videos, some have to be for Ron, right?

They have to choose them somehow, but if the "internet candidate" doesn't get as many questions during the "internet debate" as Rudy and Romney, something is wrong.

They have to edit it....

They can't expect Rudy to answer why he let down the fire-fighters on 9/11 and buried their bodies in the dump.

Don't Worry!

Dr. Paul's gotten all these questions for 30 years. He knows the answers.
It's just "new stuff" to the media. Have confidence with the guy who has the highest IQ and credentials on stage.

Proven fact?

I'm just curious. Is it a known fact that RP has the highest IQ in the race?

"Freedom is popular"
-Ron Paul

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."
-- Mahatma Gandhi

It is implied

The evidence (all previous debates, Congressional record, incredible knowledge base on the economy, etc.) cleary shows that even if he does not have the highest IQ (although, I feel he does), he is clearly the most educated...

I'm not worrying anymore

I've watched all the debates and when they try to make him look bad, he looks great and they look bad. Look at how Rudy's attacking Ron Paul worked out. I sure hope he gets more time, though. It would be great to see Thompson pulled out of the spotlight and have Ron Paul given more time.

YES it is a sham, this is what SHOULD be asked

see video: CNN/YouTube Republican Debate: Giuliani 9/11 Question

Giuliani claims, "American foreign policy had nothing to do with the September 11th. September 11th happened because these people who hate us, hate us because of the freedoms that we have." Giuliani is lying to us.
and CNN senior vice president David Bohrman is a clown

I agree

I agree that it is probably going to be a set-up or at least manipulated. I would go so far to say that they have probably had moles make YouTube videos that will in some way make RP not in a positive light.

I hope for the best but prepare for the worst. I do think though that many of the American viewers are smarter than the msm give them credit for and think this is somewhat working to our advantage.

People are slowly waking up to the msm games and mis-information propoganda. In a way, I think they are slowly cutting their own throats.

I knew it would be a sham

My prediction for the debate:
Some asian girl will ask about the global warming trade defecit effecting West China and Central Bangledesh and then will ask what politicians will do to stop Global warming and save the poor dying whales or something else that no one cares about and no ones ever heard of. Then Mitt Romney will drone on and on about how when he was Governer they had a 10% initiative to repopulate the rainforests with Koula bears but the Democrats knocked it down or some wierd biographical story that no one cares about and then there'll be a short smattering of applause.
Then a Hispanic boy named Pablo will ask Ron Paul what he thinks of illegal immigration. Ron Paul will answer with something bold, clear and true. The audience will burst into a sudden standing ovation lasting for over 10 minutes, the entire audience chanting, "RON PAUL! RON PAUL!" A bunch of armed militia from blackwater will force the crowd to sit down. And that will be the one and only question Ron Paul gets for the entire debate, after which Wolf Blitzer will say, "Well it looks like Rudy is still on top!"

Well

you got a laugh out of me - great post!

That's pretty good.

I can hear the lame questions already. But remember how Ron Paul has been slighted all along this campaign from the media? He's always postioned at the end of the stage, with very few questions thrown his way, and when they do, they're pretty much off the wall. But notice his composure, he still plays by the rules, and guess what? Nice Guys still Win!

If I were Ron, and they threw me a lame question, I'd be prepared. Give the questioner a polite "thank you", reply with a short yes/no answer and then launch into a little sound bite of my own choosing while I still had a little time on the clock.

Great post

I got a chuckle out of that. I wish it would really happen...

You know that CNN would just cut to commercial though...

cnn/youtube= ted turner+anderson cooper+google

if you do the math it seems like we might be in friendly territory here.

i await this debate with fingers crossed and bated breath.

Also Hopeful

Anderson Cooper seemed genuinely astonished at how popular Ron Paul is becoming last night. I am hopeful he will make an effort to give Ron Paul some time.

Side note: When are Hunter and Tancredo going to quit? It irritates me they're taking up probably at least 10 minutes tonight when they have next to zero support and can't even raise $1 million in 3 months.

Hunter and Tancredo should stay

The more pro-war fake conservatives on the ballot, the more they dilute each other's support. You don't think any RP supporters are going to go to Hunter or Tancredo, do you?

Peace

yes, I do. most tancredo's supports will be ours.

Hunter supporters, no way. But tancredo supporters are SERIOUSLY pissed about illegal immigration. Ron Paul is their man, as no one except Tancredo is stronger on stemming illegal immigration than RP. When Tancredo tanks, his people will go to RP, as Giuliani, Huckster, McCain, and Romney, are all pro-illegals, despite their rhetoric.

hunter/tancredo

Eventually the media will winnow the field down like they did, (rightfully so) to Gravel on the democrats side. It's nice to know we've got that Hunter/Tancredo buffer. As long as we're safely ahead of McCain and Thompson when those two are gone I'll be happy.
