Message To Ron Paul

Dear Ron Paul,

Re: Tonights U Tube Debate at 8:00PM

My best advise to you is to go after those who lack credibility on the foreign policy and war issues. That is, start running against George Bush, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove. Point out what they said then and what they are saying now. Show their complete lack of credibility. Tell of your long standing positions. Remind the people of the cost of the war. And, if any of the debaters decide to defend the President and pro war and belilgerent foreign policy aim your sites at them.

The other issues, although important, are overshaddowed by this one. So, at every chance return the debate question back to the war and our terrible foreign policy.

And, put the issue in terms of pluses for American families, their pocket books, and Christian values-- such as, not coveting or taking things- like rights of others or their belongings.

It is time to show another and tougher Ron Paul. You must distance yourself from the pack.

Good luck tonight.

My letter to RP and the "Wow" response removing peace as the iss

RP owns the issue of peace vs war and peace vs a lousy foriegn policy. He has credibility. He should use it and use it to the max.

I hope he does as it is now he needs traction in the national polls- not next month. This issue will do it for him. All he needs is 25% of R's to go along. His support with Independents and Democrats will be favorable.

If you think that other issues, like getting our troops out of Germany, are the way to go I must that you really don't understand the need for decisive action on the big issue RP has at his disposal.

Make or break time is now. RP needs to not pussy foot around.

Other issues like free trade, getting into debates about the dollar, etc will go nowhere with most people.

He is being marginalized. Further, some in his own camp are causing more harm than good. Exampe -- the article from the editors of Reason Mag -- how dumb and how unreasonable.

He has to step out swinging in the debate. He must go after Bush, Cheney, and Rove. Now. His opponents are just water boys for the president and support a crazy and dangerous foreign policy and are really a bunch of war mongers. Being for war is not what the rank and file R's want.

It's the economy, stupid!

Excuse me, but am I the only one who has noticed that the Iraq issue is winding down? The Bushies are already in negotiations with Baghdad to about a timetable for withdrawal and leaving some bases in the country. The Petraeus delusion is working on the people and confronting the War Party right now is just walking into a trap. The Republicans scammed us on the extremist threat simply to keep the issue on their plate and not allow the Democrats any benefit. They were just waiting for the surge to "work" (depending on how you look at it) before they started sending brigades home.

Why not talk about the prospect of a serious recession, maybe a contraction? How about the fact that there are 2.5 million foreclosures predicted for the next year? Paul should make a point of the government's destruction of our standard of living because this is what's really on the voters' minds right now. This is what you're supposed to be good at during these debates -- having a feel for the collective mind! As for Iraq, I honestly believe that all will be said and done before the next inauguration.

The War Issue is Huge

Many people I talk to say that Dr. Paul needs to also stress that he will defend this country if he has to. Other candidates talk a lot about the war against the Islamo-fascists who want to kill us (no matter what our foreign policy is) just because we may be non believers in their religion. So Dr. Paul needs to say that while he's president and after all the troops are brought home and we're still hearing of possible eminent attacks by these radicals, then he will be on guard to do what he has to to defend this great nation. If Dr. Paul says something like this will go a long way towards answering these critics that say he is totally anti-war.

It's the Holidays, What about our soldiers Away from their

Families! Let's remind everyone the high cost they are paying...not only in dollars... for a foreign policy that is bankrupting us, causing more hatred and only making the world less peaceful.

Did you notice in yesterday's "Peace talks" Bush had to rachet up the rhetoric against Iran... He still doesn't get it!

I agree, RP needs to make them defend Bush and his policies

and when they defend Bush who is at 30%, 70% of Americans will agree with RP.

Wow, I'd go in the total opposite direction

I'd go more for his issues that have popular centrist appeal. Put enough out there that everyone can support, and then answer, when you have to, on the more controversial ones.

Get our troops out of Iraq is a tougher sell with the hard end of the republican base. You are arguing against the rest of the party and at least one and a half 24 hour news networks.

But getting them out of Germany and Korea should be easier to sell.
Getting rid of the big departments.

Focus on having never taken a paid congressional junket. Focus on how you always return money from your congressional budget. Argue, you would be a good steward of people's money, because you have been in the past. Try using "Everyone else is trying to convince you they are the best people to spend your money. I'm really the only one trying to convince you that _you_ are the best ones to spend your money".
