Daily HR 1207 phone/email/fax bomb!!! 6/15/09
So, I know that since I've been gone, the list has reached 224, which is amazing! Even though it has passed 218, the majority of the house, we still have to get as many people on board as possible. Thanks to lance for taking over last week. By the way, I am thinking about testing this out tomorrow with S 604, and contacting members of the Senate Committee in which it sits. Tell me what you guys think.
Today's victims: Congresswoman Gwen Moore D-WI4 and Congressman Al Green D-TX9. Both are members of the House Finance Committee. I think it is important to still go after the members of the Finance Committee, since these members have the most influence on whether or not the bill leaves the committee to a floor vote.

Great! I have done the same. Lets keep the faxes rolling in. By the way, there are only 15 Republican members of the house not cosponsoring this bill right now. Does anyone think it will be worth our time to contact these Republicans in the upcoming days? Even though they are not on the Finance Committee, I think getting 100% of Republicans on board would be a great milestone. Brings us closer to 290 anyways :)

I am going to get on Sen Kay Bailey Hutchenson's office this week. She is planning to run for Governor, here in Texas. I know she is one of the insiders, and I am going to work toward her defeat anyway, but I will tell her it will be because of lack of support for 1207's companion.

However, I think she has aspirations of being the next governor of Texas. So those from TX need to let her know how you feel about someone who doesn't want more transparency in government by supporting HR 1207.
No support for HR 1207 = no support for transparency = no support for governor.
