I dont think he wants this to pass.

freedumb is not free! thats what i got from the interview if you listen close. The more they try to stop it the more they are exposed. Just a theory and also i think these people who are signing on now know it has no shot

That might explain

the rapid increase in sign-ons lately...

How frustrating to think this is just to make a point that they are corrupt [we already know that], and not actually effect an audit!

All the more important that we MUST get to 290 now. Don't let that wheel stop at 289...Camp out on their office doorstep if you must.

F*ck the FED!

Hope it comes through.

Thank you once again, Dr. Paul. You have been such a good example of what it means to be a virtuous person.

Barney Frank...

This guy is pissing me off beyond belief. Instead of picking two congressmen tomorrow asking them to cosponsor, I am going to target Barney Frank, demanding he give 1207 a hearing. Feel free to join me or not, but I think the most important thing we can do now is contacting Baney Fwank and demanding he give a bill that has majority sponsorship some god damn consideration. If anyone is good at making flyers, would it be possible to make a special one targeting Frank for tomorrow??

Joined

the Barney brigade...forget support, I asked him to be a co-sponsor - why not?

Left message for him today with assistant.

Attachment to another bill helps get it through Senate...

No one reads the bills, remember! His bill is only one page, they might read it and get scared of FEDERAL RESERVE on it.

I received a letter from my congressman

Rep, Jeff Fortenberry and in the first part of the letter he talks about the fed and the GAO and lays the ground work why he supported HR 1207.
But then last part of the letter says the following.

"This legislation is currently pending before the House Committee on Financial Services, which has not yet taken action on the measure. I expect that in the event this measure moves forward in the legislative process, committee deliberations may result in OTHER OPTIONS to achieve this goal of transparency while safeguarding certain proprietary information."

"Proprietary information?"

"Proprietary information?" What the heck could be "proprietary" about it? They work for us, not for themselves!!!

I have watch this interview numerous tiimes and I believe......

something has occured in Ron Paul's life to get him to speak suddenly this way. Whether it be men in black in the middle of the night that suggested in so many terms to back off or else. I have read between the lines and believe this is the case. Our leader; Ron Paul, has done a fantastic job and now WE must carry it to the finish line. "We The People" must do what we have set out to do. I will fight even harder for HR1207 AUDIT THE FED. Let's shoot for 300 co-sponsers. We must continue the fight til we WIN WIN WIN!

C'mon Granger...

I was in Iraq, I know about Blackwater, XE or whatever they are called...they got their ass kicked all over that place...the Marines always had to go save their stupid asses...

Well bravoseis

If you were a Marine stationed in Iraq who always had to go save XE's stupid asses, I THANK YOU. I was under the impression, a good Marine might want to be an EX because of the pay. Now you have me wondering where they got these guys.. Hollywood?

FYI Granger..

You were one of the only ones on the DP that predicted Ron Paul and Kucinich were working together on 1207 and Kucinich's audit bill. I listen a lot to what you have to say. Everyone else should follow suit if they haven't already.

FYI Pwoink

I went into a restaurant in Porterville CA, "The Celler", where on the menu they have "Turkey nuts". listed as an appetizer. So I ask, "What are turkey nuts?" And the waitress, nice pretty young woman, she twisted her wrist onto to hip and gives me this dead pan stare and says, "Well, I call 'em as I see 'em". They are a nice appetizer, deep fried nuggets served with a secret sauce. They were delishious, really. The thing was, it seems that ever since I ate those nuts, well, the darnest thing happened... I believe I became what I ate.

I THANK YOU for appreciating the gift bestowed upon me by that nice, lovely young woman in Porterville at "The Celler", who, "called 'em like she saw 'em". If I was Ron Paul, I'd THANK YOU for sitting at my empty lunch table... I bet he ate Turkey nuts too. ;)) And you there Pwoik.. maybe you have also tried Turkey nuts?

Thank you for the FYI. Hope I could make you smile as you made me smile today.

Thanks for getting in touch with me and letting me know what's on your mind.

I'm grateful you took the time to send me information on the Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009. These are serious times, and there are many important issues to discuss. I'm always glad to take a look at additional information that could help me as I review this issue, and I'll be sure to keep your comments in mind.

Sincerely,

Lamar

This is the same sort of say

This is the same sort of say nothing blather I continually get from my congressman.

They simply have various form letters in which they fill in the blanks for a few particulars allowing them to say a whole lot of nothing in a way that will not illicit too much of a reaction in any direction on the issue.

He is a Twerp!

Interesting thought:

What would happen if RP attached this bill to that piece of trash that will pass with flying colors that Obama wants that grants ultimate authority to the FED?

Or some stupid legislation that says transparency or regulations?

We win either way.

I can understand why Ron Paul said no.

"Discharge petitions are rare. A successful discharge petition embarrasses the leadership; as such, members of the majority party are hesitant to support something that would make the Speaker and their own leaders look bad. (Naturally, the minority party will often support discharge petitions precisely to embarrass the leadership.) Furthermore, since the signers of a petition are not private, majority party members are pressured not to sign, and open themselves up to retribution from the leadership should they disobey.[7]"

Amazing how its all about

Amazing how its all about ego and not about Constitutional justice with these congress creeps.

Say that this bill could get through the Congress, the Senate...

fight still awaits. I don't know how the numbers are looking there, but this bill would more than likely be defeated. If it did by some prayer pass the Senate, would Obama veto such a bill with the right spin buttons pushed for the MSM? Yes, probably he would veto the bill. Overriding a presidential veto would not be easy with this Congress.
What H.R. 1207 did do is expose those against it. Perhaps an economic "event" will occur to bring additional pressure on those against it. It is too soon to give up. Perhaps even more members will become co-signers. More is better.

True enough, Steve...

We know who is for and against auditing the fed. The list would be useful in determining who should get back in congress or not. If nothing else 1207 has turned the kitchen light on and the roaches are scurrying.....

Thanks Steve...

one of the great things about the DP is that someone will do some research so that I don't feel completely ignorant. :O)

With 58 more...

Co-sponsors to be acquired I don't think that this is a goal that is out of our reach and he would rather have THAT majority to prove his point than anything else...

I'm not sure I understand...

Why does Ron Paul not want the bill to be discharged? Wouldn't that mean that it would get voted on in the full House at that point? Doesn't the 230 co-sponsers make enough for the bill to sail through the House of Representatives?

It seems as if Ron Paul does not want the bill to go out as a free standing piece of legislation, if I understand what he is saying. But why? When he has the 230 votes in the pocket?

It seems as if he thinks the best strategy is to have it attached to some other piece of legislation that comes out of the House Committee. I'm not sure why that would be an advantage, unless the other piece involved is something brought forward by the Democratic Party leadership, and therefore would make it more likely to not meet any resistance from Nancy Pelosi.

But can Nancy Pelosi really stop this bill anyway...with the 230 votes?

I'm confused here...what's going on?

The Dems that are co-sponsoring the bill will vote against

the petition.
Many more establishment people, are opposed to discharge petitions on principle. So, just because they'll vote for the Bill when it comes up, they might vote against the discharge petition.

IT's better if it comes to the floor through normal channels.

Tracy

Dr.Paul said in the video that he doubts that enough dems

would go along with signing a discharge even it they are co sponsors.,

Cosponsors are NOT required to vote for the bill they co-sponsor

Yes, Pelosi can still stop this.

Might be worth a few calls to her office to ask her to support getting it to the floor and passing it. Meh - probably not. If you have free long distance perhaps...

in fact..

Dr Paul himself sponsored a bill in the house to declare war on Iraq, fully intending to vote against it if it came to the floor, simply to force the issue onto the Demoblican majority.

Have some faith

~

10 more Congressmen signed on this week.

Ron looks tired.

It's not gonna happen. 230 co-sponsers is not enough. The fed will find a way out. The're to powerfull

but....... people are

but....... people are catching on, people are being educated, and the fed knows we know they are a bunch of treasonous bastards....

Exactly! And sometimes Ron does look tired, just like anyone

else. That's not surprising. But most of the time he looks great.

Yeppers

I remember when this started and had a very minimal amount of co-signers... I feel like a 1207 geek but I get excited every time the subject comes up and the number has risen. The more this hangs on and gets time the more people will get educated as to what is happening. If they run it in for a vote or something now then it is all over I'm afraid.

Clear enough.

I guess it is too much to ask the D's to sign a petition to over-rule their party leaders before they water it down (or if they block it).

I lean the other way, but I'm sure RP knows the situation better from the inside. It could all be for naught if the Fed's role is assumed by the IMF/WB, anyway. And as Dr. Paul said, the biggest effect from 1207 might be the wake-up call it gives to the citizens and some in Congress.

checkmate

.

My instinct tells me this bill should be 100%

on it's own.

He said !

Even if this doesn't get passed, It would be agreat AWAKENING to the American people, they would see how secretive the Fed is and why there Rep's wouldnt sign on to this bill. Thanks for posting this sunny

I've listened to this more than once now

GOOD BYE H.R. 1207 That's the way the cookie crumbled.

I think if auditing the fed war really on the agenda, Democrats would be encouranged to audit and see what Bush left, eh?

Cookie Bomb!!!

I want to send him the hugest chocolate chip cookie he's ever seen!! :)

Can you imagine if we all sent him chocolate chip cookies at once!! Reckon that'd make the news? ;)

Yes it does! Ron Paul has won. In his own humble way he has

pulled off the most brilliant coup against the miners and sappers of our beloved Constitution and Republic. Long live Ron Paul - he is my president too.

Very interesting interview. Some behind the scenes comments.
