Overwhelming Support For U.S. Government-Run Healthcare Plan

According to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll, Americans want a radical restructuring of the nation's health care system, and overwhelmingly favor the creation of a government-run plan to compete with private insurers. 87 percent of self-described Democrats, 73 percent of independents, and even 50 percent of self-described Republicans favor a government plan, with only 39 percent of Republicans saying they oppose "socialist" health care. Also, most Americans say that they would be willing to pay higher taxes in order to provide everyone with health insurance.
So, why have most Congressional Republicans, and even some Democrats, decried the idea of a government plan as "too extreme"? Unfortunately, they're in the pocket of insurance companies, meaning the changes that most Americans want may be near-impossible to achieve...............

A majority of the people want free health care. And a majority of the people will vote NO on a health care tax. Why is that so hard to understand?

I am working with our State Chair right now, even though I have come to suspect he is not much better than the one we ousted. I know he sent his kid to a Jesuit college...
Anyway, I take my friends where I can find them. He was willing to take tips on this issue, I gave what I could. This is just so wrong, people will HATE what happens, but will blame it on the doctors "greed."
Folks, the "best and brightest" in healthcare have been retiring, going to research, doing anything they can to transition out of patient care for years. This will lead to the dumbing down of our medical professionals, hide and watch. And not just the indoctrination with half truths they have done for decades, I mean you will see the kids who can barely construct a sentence with a scalpel.
Are you into herbals? Acupuncture? Ayurveda? Think those will be on the "Universal" menu?
How about the doctor who discovers a CURE for diabetes? But he will know that to get it approved, he will have to submit a government form in 20-plicate, wait for a high school drop out to come interview him and decide if his procedure has merit, apply for a Federal Grant to do his Clinical Research, spend years doing meticulous research only to have some doofus ask him why he thinks his cure is better than the cure we already have... and he will not bother.
And if you think PHARMA is your friend, diligently researching and seeking new cures, you are crazier than I ever was, even on SSRIs. PHARMA likes you, you are a GREAT lab rat, but mostly they want your money.
I will do all I can to fight this, this may well be "my" battle for I will NOT submit to their idea of "healthcare."
