06/29/2009 Ron Paul on Cap and Trade - Texas Straight talk
Representative Ron Paul (TX) provides his insight and analysis on HR 2454 "American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009" also known as the Waxman Markey bill. HR 2454 seeks to implement a federal Cap and Trade scheme onto both American business and individuals in the form of "carbon offset credits". The bill passed the House on Friday, June 25th, 2009 by a vote of 217 aye 205 nay. The bill now moves on to the Senate where some are expecting it to encounter a tougher road in its current incarnation.
Also of note, House Democrats drafted a last minute 300 page amendment at 3:00a.m. EST the morning just prior to the vote. This in turn led to Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) attempting to read the entire amendment from the well after it was discovered missing from the official House floor copy.

Wow - Did Ron just mention how the Catholics sold indulgences?
Bold and True.
Martin Luther was fiercely against this practice, wherein the "holy see" said they were given the power to grant indulgences from Christ!!
I don't like to isolate people by groups, however, I just wanted to mention this owing to RP's statement and the fact that many Catholics are not aware of this period in Church History and might initially be offended by the referrence.

Call your senators and
Call your senators and reference this bill that Senator Kay Bailey of Texas Sponsored (Currently running for Governor of Texas) . A companion bill, Weather Modification Research and Technology Transfer Authorization Act of 2005 (H.R.2995), was introduced June 20, 2005, by Representative Mark Udall (D-Colorado) in the U.S. House of Representatives, without co-sponsors. On June 27, 2005, the bill was referred to the Subcommittee on Environment, Technology, and Standards.[1] Tell them we know they are manipulating the weather. I will be contacting her office and to make sure she votes against it
