Daily HR 1207 phone/email/fax bomb!!! 7/2/09 (S.604!)
Submitted by Liberty_Mike on Thu, 07/02/2009 - 10:15
So, how about we take a break today from 1207 and try something new going into the 4th of July weekend. Since a lot of us get the day off work tomorrow, we will be out spending time with family and friends, so there won't be one tomorrow.
Today's Victims: Senator Lindsey Graham R-SC and Senator Jim Bunning R-KY. Both have expressed interest in this bill, and have said they would support it. Well, how about we hold them to their word about supporting it and demand they cosponsor!

"Shock And Awe"
We need a little "Shock and Awe" to get our representatives to commit themselves to support transparency of the Fed.
I sent Senator Bill Nelson the following email yesterday:
Dear Senator Bill Nelson,
Tomorrow, July 04, 2009, is Independence Day. I will celebrate it but I know our Independence is slowly but surely fading away.
Your Bio states: "A fifth-generation Floridian, Nelson was born in Miami on Sept. 29, 1942, and educated in Melbourne's public schools. He served his country as a captain in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1971, both on active duty and in the Reserve. He has been married to his wife, Grace, since 1972 and has two grown children, Nan Ellen and Bill Jr".
Senator, I served 22 years in the US Air Force, both on active duty and the Air National Guard. Three of my seven children were born here in Florida while I was stationed at Patrick AFB.
I urge you to stay on the right side of history and co-sponsor S. 604. As you know, Congress does not have control of the money supply. The Congress has abdicated its responsibility and made itself irrelevant when it comes to appropriating money for the most part. The Federal Reserve prints and disperses money without one vote or oversight from the Congress.
You stood up against the TARP and gained a lot of respect from your constituents for doing so. I ask you to please stand up once again and support the Transparency bill that will help return control of our money supply to the Congress. Do it for your constituents, your country, and Nan and Bill Jr.
Sincerely
Charles Wilson
Faxed both
one day late
Thanks Liberty_Mike!
Here is a copy of the letter I am sending to the senators using bits of your great letter and my own input:
To: United States Senators
Date: July 2009
Subject: Vote Yes to co-sponsor S 604,
the Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009
As you may know, S. 604 was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont on March 16, 2009. This bill allows for the Federal Reserve to be audited by the United States Comptroller General.
Your constituents know that now is the time to act to perform a meaningful audit of the Federal Reserve.
Since actions by the FED were major reasons contributing to the current financial crisis, you now must pass a bill to allow Americans to better understand how these decisions and policies were made. We will be watching closely how you vote.
Please show us your concern and co-sponsor S 604, this important companion to the bi-partisan House 1207, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009.
In Liberty,
Bunning does not need any effort wasted on him...
He will support it. End of story. Having said that, Bunning is no friend of freedom, unless he has turned over a new leaf.
I will forgive him for all his actions if he endorses Rand when he bows out.

Let's get some afternoon activism going!
Email
My email I sent to both. I am trying something new, where I wrote a letter that I based off of all the generic responses we all have recieved from congresscritters and senate snakes who do not intend to cosponsor either 1207 or 604.
Thank you for allowing me to contact you. I encourage you to cosponsor and support S.604, the Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009.
As you may know, S. 604 was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont on March 16, 2009. This bill allows for the Federal Reserve to be audited by the United States Comptroller General.
I am sure you share the concerns of not only your constituents, but all of the American people over the current economic crisis. Also, I am sure that you understand performing an audit of the Federal Reserve will allow for the American people and government to better understand the decisions and policies that were made by the Federal Reserve which were a major contributor to this financial crisis. To ensure this does not happen again in the future, I know you will take your constitutional duty to oversee monetary and fiscal policy with great seriousness to the benefit all Americans. I look forward to seeing you as a cosponsor of S. 604. Thanks!
Sent!!
I hope other's will do the same.

Haha, just think of the fax
Haha, just think of the fax machine at Graham's DC office exploding because they are receiving such big waves of faxes!
400+ users online
right now. Everyone please at least send a fax to their DC office. I'd love to see the face of the staffers when they receive a wave of 400+ flyers to their office in support of S. 604!
