It's sad
Isn't it funny how as anyone/anything becomes more successful the more problems that come with it. You see examples of it everywhere, whoever/whatever makes it to the top inevitably becomes a big target. Alex seems to be a major target here, mainly because alot of people don't agree with all his views. Alot of people are scared of how his views may reflect upon them because he is friends with and a major supporter of Ron Paul and they can be associated with Alex for just being a Ron Paul supporter. I think you just can't worry about either, what someone you may be associated with says or with what someone else may erroneously associate you with. These are things out of your control and insignificant to your cause, goals and life really. Alex Jones is going to believe what he believes from what he knows and what research he has done just like you and everyone else does regardless of what anyone else wants. Whether you like him or not, agree with his views or not, his goals are the same as Ron Pauls ultimately. You may be in total disagreement in what exists now and what has been done historically, but I believe Alex Jones goals for this country are the same as Dr. Pauls.
Face it people, we're not going to agree on everything ever, and that shouldn't matter if we have the same goals. That's how we should be and how this country should be.
As for the infowars.tv thing, I can see both sides but my personal opinion sides with Alex. If the site was by another name not associated with Alex's websites then I don't think this would be happening but since it does seem it could be a division of infowars.com and thus be attributed falsely as an Alex Jones website that's the problem. Can there be any doubt he used the address infowars.tv to make people think it was associated to Alex Jones? Thus of course gaining more exposure, then more visitors, then more advertisers, then more money. I mean it's a good idea really for this guy who did it, but it is really piggybacking off of Alex. Like I said if he would've called it anything else I bet this wouldn't have happened. Alex just wants to have control of what is going to be seen as his product and I really can't blame him. Ron Paul lent his name to other people long ago for a newsletter and even though he didn't write the stuff every election it still gets brought up and attributed to him. So that just shows that you do have to be careful.
*Shrug*
He didn't do anything on purpose. I did not say I completely backed this guy as I would not, but he's just trying to get his message out without some one from a sinister corner copying him and being the impostor.
I don't see anything wrong about that, do you? Hmm.
Here is Alex explaining his side of the story
on his show today

sounds reasonable to me ...

If you don't like him or his actions...stop listening.
It is that easy.
I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees...
I believe Alex Jones is a covert propagandist
First of all, he lights up on my bullshit radar (instinctively, I believe he is deceptive).
Next, his persona seems to be created...as if scripted.
He ignores certain important issues.
Yeah, I'm sure he says things that you like to hear...but that is the point. By having a representative of your thoughts, you don't have to do or say anything. THAT'S why Alex Jones exists. To take away your voice and actions.
You're flashing up on my BS radar right now.
"I believe the true significance of the Gold Commission is that the politicians and central bankers were so alarmed at such a thing that they made sure it was packed by an array of Keynesians and monetarists." (Ron Paul 1985)
I think you're all wet on this one!
Alex is just trying to protect himself. I can't say as I blame him for protecting what he has worked for. If everyone on the net makes $ from his labor, then that takes $ away from him! Just my thoughts........
I can see where the problem
I can see where the problem is with the name of his site. People will confuse it with actually being an Infowars site. Apparently Alex didn't see foresee that becoming a problem, and when he found out the site was confusing advertisers, he wanted it stopped.
It's not really an issue of him using Alex's videos on his site, despite that being listed in the Take Down Notice. Alex was using the DMCA copyright protocol to take care of the situation instead of taking him to court. The site operator can fight it, but he'll lose because his site's name is confusing. He should just throw in the towel on this one.
If Alex allows him to use his name, it sets a precedent for others to follow and dilutes his trademark protection.
(Is this the same person who was going around pretending he was still with the show?)
This thread PROVES Alex is being effective.

Good Job, Alex.
AJ lets people post his articles and docs. What he can't allow is someone to pose as him. Frequently people who do so have racist material or other objectionable links which would make him vulnerable to legal action. He's simply being smart.
Alex Jones encourages the spreading of his material, and does so without charge. No one can argue with that.

I'm with you, Alex wakes people up.
And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”
Sounds like a valid reason for a 'cease and decist'.
What's your problem?
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
A lot of old timers like myself are starting to question
Mr. Jones's motives.
Thomas Jefferson once said, "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground."
Well, I guess he called that one.
Oh...OK Grampa Jim....
Since you're such an "old timer", we should ALL listen to you...
Can we gather 'round the campfire, and you tell us how it was in the old days?

Alex Jones is the real deal!
I support his position on copycats 100%. I wouldn't want anyone having free rein with my name and reputation - would you?
"Nothing is as it appears; everything is smoke and mirrors"
Yet more people obsessed with Jones.
You can thank yourselves for giving him more viewer and listenership now.
Hint: normal people just tune out when they don't like someone.
Both parties are at fault but Aj's credibility is being lost

How stupid - I respect him MORE
For instance, would you really let someone use your face if they were promoting child porn? Especially if you were a celebrity & had copyrights, a credible audience & resume, not to mention endorsements? Get real. The webmaster may have said it's one sort of site just to get AJ to agree & then totally change the format to beheading kittens. Come ON! Who the hell would allow that to continue?? If AJ changed his mind about it, he changed his mind. So What! We're all allowed to.
Alex is right! Go Do Your Own Thing! Quit riding his coattails!

Changing your mind is fine
Changing your mind is fine but tell a person first instead of legal action for $375,000 especially after you have promoted the site on your radio show. This guy was an admin for A J's forum this would be like Michael suing Sunny without even talking to her first.
A J is way out of line on this issue.

Whatever...
This Chris Arnold guy couldn't even come up with an original name for his site. What is & has been AJ's website for years? InfoWars. What is Arnold's name of his website? InfoWarsTV. Give me a break. Coattail riding at it's finest...
And this guy was asked to stop & kept on saying he was still affiliated to AJ's show even when he quit to do his InfowarsTV.
4:40 min. in
http://www.youtube.com/wa...
and at 5:45 min. in Alex says that his show is being confused with copycats and that SPONSERS were getting them confused. They wouldn't sponser the REAL Alex Jones show because they were already sponsering Arnold's or some other copycat show, and why would they sponser the same show twice?? That is Alex definitely missing out on sponsers that are rightfully his as the sponsers were looking to support the Alex Jones show & not some coattails rider's.

I honestly...
Do not have too much respect for Mr. Jones, but this type of article is little more than a hit piece because he didn't do anything unusual.
Jones didn't do anything wrong since it's within his perogative to either sue, or blacklist users as well as websites who link to his information and claim to be him or advertise themselves as Alex Jones - Infowars Inc.
He's not getting really much compensation for what he does, and the amount of copycats who pretend to be him, or cause issues for him, is really quite ridiculous and un-needed.
Jones probably gets hassled by the ADL, White Supremacists and corporate crooks all the time from the Globalist movement. He doesn't need to have fellow patriots doing the same thing.
It's a waste of time, and I bet he is getting a lot of hassle from people he barely even has heard of that's why the cease & desist made sense.
So its ok for Jones to use
So its ok for Jones to use the heavy hand of government to force people from copying videos. IP law isn't all that great
Didn't say that....
I said it's reasonable that Alex Jones would protect himself.
Given the line of work he's in, it makes sense for him, or you or anyone to fully utilize the law of "Cease & Desist" to block other people from either impersonating you or him, using his or your content and pretending to be you, or using a similar site with Alex Jones' own content or your content which is clearly an impostor site.
Globalists seize on this type of action all the time actually, you would know if you watched the movie "The International". Otherwise they could just put random hits out on Alex, and get his site torn down and life ruined. Alex Jones is being smart, since this is a war and in war you take nothing for granted.
Btw, I still don't say I'm a fan of his. I'm not even a follower. But he has the same rights to say what he wants to just like you.
