Bill to Restrict Ammunition Moves Ahead

Earlier today, the Senate Public Safety Committee passed Assembly Bill 962. The bill now moves to the Senate Appropriations Committee for consideration. No hearing date has been scheduled.

AB962, sponsored by Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require purchasers submit to fingerprinting, which would be kept in dealers’ records and subject to inspection by the Department of Justice. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited.

Please contact the members of the Senate Appropriations Committee TODAY and respectfully urge them to oppose AB962. Contact information can be found below.

I made a phone call

I'll see what response I get, and if it's a go, then my county will have a good turn out.... my feelings tell me it's a "red herring" because we have serious issues here with Arnold paying people in IOUs and people are not willing to "buy", or not set up to trade with an CA issued IOU. Tell you what, people in CA are so pissed off they are unable to see straight.

thanks !!

enough preasure by enough people...and it will be DOA!!

bump

for action.

what a joke... I will shoot

what a joke... I will shoot 1000 rounds per day or more when I'm training..
I feel sorry for you poor folks in Kalifornia.. hopefully we will not see that here in Colorado..

If california passes it.. you will!!!

PLease call these asses ..and tell them hell no!! give them as many reasons why this is a horrible bill.... and just tell them you live in California..and represent.... hundreds of voters ...

50 rounds?

im an idiot. how many bullets are in a round?

LMAO!

That's the funniest thing I've heard in a week....thanks troy. :O)

One.

One.

aha

i was afraid that was the answer. so, in california, they don't want you moving more than 50 bullets?

there goes hunting, shooting ranges, and oh yeah. darn. i was planning on terrorizing my city with a shooting spree. but oh well, shucks. i guess this law is going to stop me.

To clarify...

bullets are the projectile, the casing is the brass or steel that holds the primer, powder and bullet; the entire assembly is a cartridge.

(1) cartridge = (1) round. 50 rounds is nothing, until TSHTF, and the nanny state of California knows that.

i dont even own a gun

and now im suddenly included to start hoarding ammo in response to this.

me too;

and thanks for the information, jdayh. I'll be calling.

no gun>>>?????

cmon... you should just get one... (even an older revolver) and hang it in your house unloaded with the constitution hanging over it..(or at least the 2nd amendment)

It will inspire your more and more each day!! (since all of the founders owned guns,...it only seems prudent that every single PERSON who is striving to restore our nation back to a Constitutional Republic own at least one weapon.

(it will also make you a bit more aggressive!!-- mentally)

EVEN RON PAUL OWNS GUNS!!

What do you mean "even an older revolver"?

For beginners a revolver is great. I trust a properly maintained semi-auto 99% of the time to not malfunction. I trust a well-maintained revolver 99.9%. The fewer working parts, the fewer things to go wrong.

haha.. no offense meant... I love revolvers..even older ones

work fine.... just meant something that would seem as non-intimidating as possible.... (since it would be for a beginner who (apparently) has not owned a gun before...)

please do!!

and contact any/all or your activist friends in CA...

all we need is a a core group of people to call/contact the people above..

If we do that they should cave!!!

Yeah, there has been a run on guns and ammo lately
