"Unity in Diversity" - Medvedev Shows Off Sample Coin of New ‘World Currency’ at G-8

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev illustrated his call for a supranational currency to replace the dollar by pulling from his pocket a sample coin of a “united future world currency.”

“Here it is,” Medvedev told reporters today in L’Aquila, Italy, after a summit of the Group of Eight nations. “You can see it and touch it.”

The coin, which bears the words “unity in diversity,” was minted in Belgium and presented to the heads of G-8 delegations, Medvedev said.

Oh please. Are we really going to try to say Obama was looking at some woman's derrière because a camera caught him glancing in that direction? Are we going to say he was applying for a payday loan because his motorcade passed a payday loan store? I don't think so. It's time to report on the G8 summit and not on the ridiculous topics that are passing as news these days. I would personally get that payday loan if it would mean the G8 Summit would be reported on and not have to see another ridiculous report of Obama looking at a girl's derrière.

And at that rate of 1, whatever you call them, as any suitable alloy of gold, that would be at least 1/4-1/2 ounce in that size of a coin. Pretty sizable for a unit coin. I would think a unit coin based on silver and higher denominations based on gold would be more likely.

I have typed three antivirus provider for you to send to. Use a zip program, zip it with with a password and send it via email. This should help prevent this exact event in the next update.

The Manifesto page says they will present banknotes and coins at "trials at important international events", presumably to be touted by "experts" that counterfeiting will be no more and World Peace will ensue (sarcasm). The banknotes supposedly will use digital cryptography and bar codes for tracking and security - can you say Goodbye to the privacy of money?. No mention of whether the coins are made of gold or silver, although a gold one was minted at the Mint of Belgium and presented at the G8 summit....
