The Providence Journal: Marina Peterson, treasurer of the organization — it opposes government spending and new taxes — said she was told “not to waste the stamp to send in an application” to appear again in the Bristol parade, which the town says dates to 1785 as the oldest continuously observed Fourth of July celebration in the nation.
A PERMIT???
WTF!!! ( please excuse the profanity - it's virtually justified!!)

NOW TELL ME ... WHAT'S THE PROPER RESPONSE?
a. Go home and sulk?
b. Write a nasty letter?
c. File a lawsuit?
d. Offer to pay a fine?
e. Offer to sweep up after the parade?
f. Demand the other "hand-out" paraders to also get the boot?
g. Demand they show proof ie. eye witness, photo ect. make sure it wasn't hearsay.
h. Double or Triple your efforts to pass out MORE Constitutions at the next parade?
i. Who needs a F#$#^%$ PERMIT in the first place?
j. Start your own parade?
k. Anyone game to take a trip to RI?

I like other: Crash the Parade
but, before hand, have a certified letter of legal intent to sue if they interfere with the protester's rights of free speech. Invite as many people as you can AND pass out flyers on the Obama deception and an unfettered description of the nimrod saying don't waste your stamp!

You're on the right track, informing local news;
public opinion can force the committee nazis to back down.
1. Pass them out anyways
2. Bring a video camera or have someone videotaping the event and be ready to video tape any encounters you may have
3. Wear a T-shirt with the first amendment written on it
4. Overwhelm them with volunteers to help pass out the fliers
5. Sue if they bother you
Edit: How do you become a member of the committee that determines which floats are chosen? If you could get onto that committee that could ensure that all floats are treated equally...and freely.
