Rand Paul Money Bomb - August 20 - Save the Date!
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Mon, 07/13/2009 - 18:06
Mark your calendar: Thursday, August 20th, 2009. This is the big one, the day we raise a cool million for Rand in his US Senate race for Kentucky.
Pledge your support at: www.RunRandRun.com.
Make your donation at Rand's official site: RandPaul2010.com.
** New Graphics I Support Rand Paul! (Check it out!)

Only criticism.
I know we're trying to make the Rand Paul banner look like the Ron Paul banners of yesteryear... but the pic they chose to 'blot' makes Dr. Rand look like he has a double chin... or like Bill O'Reilly.
Can we change the banner pic to something a little more attractive before we start posting it everywhere???
(I think my biggest concern is the big line for the mouth, and the absence of teeth.)

But I love the idea, and I'll be pledging my funds for that day! :)
I agree rucdelaspook
I really like the design but it does make him look a little chubbier than he really is.You lose his likeness. I think it has mostly to do with the neck. I went in photoshop to see if I could tweak it all. It's a subtle change but I think it brings back Rand's likeness a little more:
Rand Logo Fix
It's the one on the left. The one on the right is the original for comparison. I focused mostly on the neck and defined the mouth area slightly, everything else is the same. I don't know who's in charge of this, but what do you think, is it worth a change? Or is it already being mass produced and not a big deal?
Wow, pretty substantial difference.
I like the definition in the neck, and the appearance of a smile. It's funny, it's a very subtle change, but my eye is just more moved to the one on the left.
The one on the right just looks... smashed. And then when you compare them, the neck starts to look like a beard... like he's Amish or something.
I must say, what you've done is pretty remarkable. You've turned Jabba the Hutt into Han Solo. :)
I hope the right people see this.
Thanks
Yeah when your dealing with human likenesses even the smallest subtleties make a huge difference. Your eyes are trained to read and remember faces and expressions. Even if one little thing is off it will bug your mind because it can't recognize what it's seeing. Like when someone shaves their beard or loses a lot of weight, you hardly recognize them.
Either way I think its still a great design and I want a tshirt :)
Thank you!
For the input.
The design is evolving. I can't say that I'm completely happy with it, either, but I did want to get something up to show my support ASAP.
I'm still working on it, but I've got this website to run, as well as this huge editing project that came out of the blue, and a class I'm taking, so my time is tight.
The primary is in May, and the election is in November 2010. I'll keep working on the image with the time I have.
I appreciate the honest feedback!
"WOW"
Rush.... me up folks to the new Rand Paul eVolution !!

Super Give Rand Some Money Extravaganza Day 2009: Part 4 Festival!?
Any winners? Any of those fresh enough for you cats? (I'll admit I ran out of ideas near the end there)
Fact is money bombs may be old but they're effective. Getting Rand past the 100k mark successfully put his name out there. They can't say Trey Grayson without mentioning Rand Paul and that name recognition is half the battle. Keep it up everyone!
Rumor is ...
that Rand is in:
http://pageonekentucky.com/2009/07/10/david-adams-on-rand-pa...
It will really help when he more publicly confirms.
In many of his appearances, especially the earlier ones, it's almost as if he went out of his way to say he was not sure.
That sends a mixed message to people.

The race is being deciding
The race is being deciding in the media right now.... It's so easy to see here in Kentucky. Money drives the media. Rand's competition is killing him in fundraising. Republicans 6 to 1. Democrats 10 to 1.
Rand doesn't even have to have a platform...they don't care! They are picking the candidates based on fundraising....

Really.
Where are the other guys getting all their money?
Maybe an audit of the Fed would reveal a few things. :P
Things like businesses, not able to get capital at critical points over the years, failing and then eventually all being bought up by others that have always been able to rely upon the Fed for cash infusions:
http://www.corporations.org/media/
Wouldn't it be interesting if these same businesspeople were the ones donating all the money to candidates?
We already saw very interesting similarities in all the top donors for all candidates across the board in 2008.

Yes, the money bomb idea is
Yes, the money bomb idea is not new, but it is a good idea because it forces people to make a commitment on a given day, where they can instantanously see the results of their concerted efforts.
I don't know if I can swing fifty
But I'm certainly down for $8.20 on 8/20.

Um...
These moneybombs are getting a little out of hand. They are being used too much, plus we just had a Rand Paul moneybomb!

I'm not trying to put a damper on anybody & I'm not pessimistic
but, these money "bombs" are old. They were good the first few times, when they really were bombshells & RP had historical fundraising days, but they have lost their bang. The term has been used too much, it is overused. Yes, I know Trevor Lyman didn't come up w/ this idea, just the website, it is M. Nystroms idea aka the webmaster of this site. Participate if you wish, I'm not trying to discourage you, just that the term is old, & we wouldn't want to take away from the really successful money "bombs" that really were historical fundraising days and made Ron Paul's name famous & bought him appearances on TV shows. Let's leave the term money "bomb" alone & go w/ something else.

Needless to say, I am in!. All in.
Michael, I'm in with you
I will pledge to donate $50.00 to Rand Paul's campaign on August 20th.
I we can elect just one US Senator and have him totally on our side, we can begin to gum up the machine.

can non Us citizens donate?
can non Us citizens donate?
No, Unfortunately non US Citizens cannot donate, however,
I am a US Citizen and wish to donate the maximum allowed, and I wish, on my own, to spend my own money to print signs at my own expense, or create political TV & Radio ad campaigns and other materials etc...
In order to do that I am thinking of selling what I call Liberty Tooth Picks, I will hand paint them with Red, White and Blue; and would like to sell them to anyone in the world.
I would like to sell them for $25.00 each, and add value by writing the United States Declaration of Independence; on quality parchment paper.
To which I will sign my own name at the bottom, and hand mount my "Liberty Tooth Pick" next to my name. Those I would sell for $50.00
to further increase value, I would add My personal picture and sell these for $100 dollars each. With no limit to anyone or any country.
If there are any takers that would like to make a purchase of my proposed "Liberty Tooth Pick" master pieces. Please contact me here or through the Daily Paul method.
I can make money any way I want, and I can spend my money any way I want. And so I want to make extra money, so that I can donate to liberty candidates.
So in conclusion, you cannot donate to any political campaign, but, you sure can buy my Liberty Tooth Picks, and have the satisfaction of watching me stab at the heart of tyranny..
I may actually develop an entire line of products to sell to the entire world, after which I may actually run my own self funded campaign with the money I earn...
How's that for and end run? And doing it legally!

i seem to remember
that if you donate under 100 usd, the campaign is not required to report who the donor is. so it stands to reason that you could donate in small amounts as a foreigner , though i could be completely wrong.
Thanks for taking the lead once again!
Thanks for taking the lead once again! We are really making a difference when we draft such great candidates for high office. My only comment would be that the face doesn't really resemble Rand Paul's... I would not recognize him without the text. The Ron Paul one was more recognizable...
I am in!
I am in!
Go Dr Paul =)
Can't donate (not a US citizen), but I'm pretty sure raising 1million in one day is not a problem for you guys :p
Good luck ;)

Senate Strategy is Smartest
A handful of liberty senators like Rand and Peter Schiff would do more than any other change.
Lets do this
We'll need more advertising and videos to make this happen.
Great job Michael
& Co. I also love the slogan...because Rand is the bomb!
Maybe we can get Sarah Palin later to endorse Rand and campaign for him. I think that will give him an extra boost.
Some people at ronpaulforums have pledged to contribute also more than 100 USD, which is good. So if 10k plus can contribute each at least 100 USD, and some 200, 3000 etc. that would surprise even more and make it say 1,2 million, plus the 120 k he already has. I think he will run, if he does not run, or perhaps not win the primary, he can always goe for a congressional seat, where less money is needed. However, we fight to WIN and it will be hard, but is completely do-able. There are not so many people, so person to person campaigning would be very effective. People should make a CD with his appearances so far as well as the fortcoming ones together with his platform and spread such CD's around. I do not believe so much in hi tech gimmicks, more effective campaigning. People cna also tout the economic advisers he has, as I doubt it that trey Grayson or the businessman will have such a list of people. Grayson can be painted as the ultimate DC insider and ex-Clinton employee, as too much "left" and the other guy, who has keye-s endorsement as too much to the "right", while Rand represents the principled "middle or centre right" as an outside that is also very informed has experience, not only voa campaiging for his father over the years and vsiting RNC meetings and being part of Young American for freedom in Texas, but also his 15 year bi-partisan Kentucky Taxpayers Association. I have also noticed Rand Paul is smart and skilled, speaking of the "leave me alone" coalition, that grover Norquist is also using. It would not surprise me that Rand had a lot to do with getting Grover to speak at the Rally for the Republic. Who knows Doug Wead could possibly also campaign a bit for Rand later. Doug is a good speaker and well known and would be quite well respected, also among the "Bush Republicans"...Grayson supported Romney int he primary, and Wead also contributed, so to the Romney supporters, who were probably unlike Romney himself, against the Bush-Paulson bailout, present Rand as the really fiscal conservative and also to the Mccain supporters, that Grayson did not support McCain. Of course the Huckabee supporters also have something to contribute. But the whole issue is also, we are now in a different ballgame than last eyar, with the economic predictions of Dr. Paul that turned out to be 100% correct. Rand is also a much better speaker than Trey.
nahhhh
Let's just forget the Old School. Imbecilic pro-war nobodies like Sarah Palin, Romney and Huckabee? They are the new breed's enemies, that only know how to glom onto the latest bandwagon.
Any connection to them will taint and contaminate. They are sleazy politicians; Rand Paul is in a whole different class of statesmen, as is his dad.
Now, Doug Wead, that's a different matter. He has written many glowing articles about Ron Paul.
I'll send him a few bucks. Sure hope he wins.
We need a Senator.
What happens if he doesn't
What happens if he doesn't run?
He will if we send him $1 million
And he would give it back if he still has it
BTW
Thank You Micheal Nystrom for doing this!
We need This
Spead the message any way you can !!!
We desperately need AT LEAST
We desperately need AT LEAST 10,000 people signed up for this.
Let's get Rand $2 Million on this day.
I hope he announces around July 15th, so he can start making some money before then also. He needs $ 5 Million in my opinion for his Primary.
