I did not even bother to

I did not even bother to "look" at your link! (shoot me!)

The answer to your question is NO.

I only

got half way through it Mike, thats all I could take!

What a dooshbag.

I like how he is unable to derive any correlation between the downswing in 'soviet lifespan' and the downswing in grades in the little story he rattles off at the get go. Perhaps the 'market reforms' he blamed for 'ruining' the healthcare system in said country prevented it from going as swiftly from a B to a D, but ultimately couldn't overcome the idiocy of the communist system.

Plus its cute how he cherry picks 'life span' as the be all end all indicator of the sucessfulness of an economic system-- In a socialist society its possible to throw exorbitant quantities of 'cash' at whatever 'problem' ye old government wants to. The Russians prioritized healthcare. The result? Their populace was for the most part impoverished but damn, did they ever live long. Kudos socialism, for your ability to prolong the misery.

Is it the socialist's money

Is it the socialist's money & value that is proping up the World ? I don't see socialist putting monies into our couffers, for nothing in return..How long has the U.S.A. been doing this around the World & NOW they have the guts to say WE need to spread the wealth around .DAH, where have they been for the LAST century.?
yes ???

Such an ignorant rant

I commented a bunch of times.

"Government spending cannot create additional jobs. If the government provides the funds required by taxing the citizens or by borrowing from the public, it abolishes on the one hand as many jobs as it creates on the other.", www.mises.org

"In the capitalist society there is a place and bread for all. Its ability to expand provides sustenance for every worker. Permanent unemployment is not a feature of free capitalism." - Mises - www.mises.org, http://www.freedomshift.blogspot.com

Okay...

About as full of $#!~ as a constipated elephant. He wrote his own intellectual death certificate when he admitted that he was an educational consultant for many of our public school districts. And I'll bet those would-be billionaires in Canada are probably pissed that their rightfully earned money is being taken from them to help those who weren't as "fortunate."

My, Thom Hartmann is an educated fool...

His argumentation implies that "lifespan" is more important the freedom.

And he is saying that the Soviet Union had better lifespans than here...the evidence and study was probably botched and flawed! I'd rather live to 60 in freedom that to 90 in tyranny!!

Of course, the Soviet government wouldn't just LIE, would they?

Lifespans in the soviet union were longer? According to whom, and do those figures include those who got shot in the gulags?

"The problem with trying to child-proof the world, is that it makes people neglect the far more important task of world-proofing the child." -- Hugh Daniel

He goes on to try and debunk the notion that people always act

in there self-interest. Of course they do. Even Mother Theresa did.
