"The odds of a significant bout of inflation now are about the same as they were in 1929. Next to none. History is about to repeat."

"Naturally every country under attack by an enemy uses all its capacity and opportunities to confront the enemy," Jafari said to the hard-line newspaper Jaam-e Jam, according to translations of his comments on the English-language website of the semiofficial Fars News Agency.
"Iran will definitely act to impose control on the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz," through which 17 million barrels of oil passes each day.

I have a good eye for these things and I think that I can tell when I see a people in need of "liberation."
Officials with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have informed Bernanke about a plan that would have been unheard-of in the past: a general examination of the US financial system.
For seven years, US President George W. Bush refused to allow the IMF to conduct its assessment. Even now, he has only given the IMF board his consent under one important condition. The review can begin in Bush’s last year in office, but it may not be completed until he has left the White House. This is bad news for the Fed chairman.

The Freedom Movement has suffered a great loss. Kent Snyder, chairman of my presidential campaign, lost his tragic battle with pneumonia last week. Kent was a true lover of liberty. He was an American patriot. He was my friend. And, he will be missed.
Kent was a gentle man who carried himself with quiet dignity. While soft spoken, great inner strength lay behind his kind blue eyes. He was filled with conviction, and principles of decency, loyalty and respect ran to his core. Those fortunate enough to work closely with Kent were touched by his integrity and old-fashioned American work ethic. Stories of his youth in Kansas and lessons taught to him by his two greatest influences, his mother and father, were often shared with friends and colleagues. During difficult times, Kent was always a calm at the center of the storm.
I first met Kent in 1987 when he, as a young man in his late 20’s, served on my first presidential run. Continue at the Campaign for Liberty blog.
It is a sad day today.
We will be doing a segment tonight at 9pm eastern to honor Kent Snyder and show our respects to Mr. Snyder and his family.
We are setting up a fund for the Snyder family and we hope that Michael will help us with this.
Let's do it!
I just received a call from a dear friend and Ron Paul supporter. She had just received a call directly from Linda Hunnicutt of the Granny Warriors. Appearently there is a rumor that is spreading like wildfire that the Freedom Rally in Sturgis, SD has been canceled.
Linda and crew are on their way in the Freedom Wagon at this moment. If you are part of a meet up group or have any other contacts, call in shows etc. please spread the message.
Thomas Woods informs us via the Campaign for Liberty blog:
Here’s an exciting bit of news: Ron Paul will have a book signing for his #1 New York Times bestseller The Revolution: A Manifesto at a Borders just outside St. Paul at 1:00pm on September 1, the day the GOP convention opens. The Borders store is located at 866 Rosedale Center, Roseville, MN.
Sure would be fun if lots of people came, wouldn’t it?
Ron Paul gave a speech on the House floor today condemning the "virtual war resolution" soon to be considered by the House of Representatives. This bill already has 208 co-sponsors, and will likely be voted on after the 4th of July holiday. A related bill is being worked on in the Senate, with 29 Cosponsors. Many of the cosponsors are Democrats. Who says the Democratic Party is the anti-war party? Here is the video of Dr. Paul speaking out forcefully against this resolution, sadly to a nearly empty House chamber.
It is time for Americans to join together against this insanity. Please take the time to understand your representative's position on this resolution, and let him or her know that the American people do not want another war. Below is an unofficial transcript of Dr. Paul's speech:
First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who sent in a donation to keep the site running. I've been touched by your generosity and kind words. I sent everyone who donated some cool stickers, but if you did not receive yours (I might have missed some) please let me know using the contact button above. So far I've raised close to $1,500 via donations. That will cover hosting for the next 5 months or so, but there is so much more that needs to be done around here.
