Pitching Ron Paul - Tips from North Carolina
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Mon, 10/29/2007 - 18:47From Barry Day’s Reality Check:
Several of our Meetup members spent a week at the GOP booth during the North Carolina State Fair introducing folks to the message of liberty and a Constitutional federal government. Speaking with over 1,000 people over 6 1/2 days was indeed trial by fire, but after the first couple of days we developed a rhythm hitting the same themes that resonated with attendees.
We engaged folks with our “Liberty Packs”, pictured below. They contained a Pocket Constitution/Declaration of Independence (with an excellent introduction, from the Cato Institute), Slim Jim, four pages of issues-based handouts including Rep. Paul’s Statement of Faith, and a Ron Paul DVD.

Ron Paul - The 'Real' Maverick
Submitted by Jane Aitken on Mon, 10/29/2007 - 16:36"Ron Paul is actually a true conservative," commented Will's fellow panelist, New York Times columnist Paul Krugman. "He wants to eliminate Social Security. He want to go back on the gold standard. He's the real thing."

Jim Rogers Endorses Ron Paul!
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Mon, 10/29/2007 - 14:08
Investors around the world know and respect Jim Rogers as a smart, successful, maverick investor. He was an original partner with George Soros - they founded the Quantum fund together. In the late 1990's, he turned bullish on commodities - notably gold, and predicted the beginning of a great bull market in commodities in his best selling, Hot Commodities.
Jim recently endorsed Ron Paul in a video interview with the Financial Times. In this excellent interview on the Financial Times website, he says that Ron Paul "is the only one I've seen in American politics that seems to have a clue with what's going on in the world..."

Even tho it's intended to be an audio/mp3 site....the videos are what's getting the attention and interest. People are attracted to them and they are the most powerful tools in cementing a "converted/converting" voter.

No Mystery Why Young Americans Love Ron Paul
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Mon, 10/29/2007 - 01:56From the Huntington News (thanks Karen):
What most people don't hear that the younger people hear and see very clearly is their forced participation. The current troop deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan have been there far beyond the prescribed tours of duty, and our military has been spread so thin that we are virtually guarding Iraq while America goes unprotected. This cannot continue on a volunteer basis. The young of our country see a mandatory draft in their future to fight in a war they don't even want. These young people are supporting Ron Paul in droves. They do not want a new Vietnam or continued Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran for their generation.
Ron Paul: The New Hip
The other candidates are so yesterday.
A recent Wisconsin straw poll made me realize it. At the straw poll Ron Paul had supporters were carrying signs and whooping it up: no other candidate had anybody visible support. Paul won the poll.
It occurred to me that an uncommitted voter who attends an event sees all kinds of interesting people carrying Ron Paul signs, and he or she is impressed.
What a cool bunch of people! College kids, bikers, grannies, ethnic groups... what am I missing?

I've seen lots of criticism of it around the net, but I think it is great, and here is why:
First TV Ad - Please read
Submitted by Jane Aitken on Sat, 10/27/2007 - 20:14I have a request and that is that you stop calling the campaign with your complaints. I have offered to work with them on the critique. This is not set in stone, and can be redone. These are real supporters, not actors. I know most of them - they are my friends and are great people, some of them in important positions in NH. Please do not insult them, because they are the ones who have brought Ron's polling up to 7.4% with their time, sweat, and money. Sure Ron could be smiling, and the script could be better, or they could have used clips from spontaneous comments.
Video: A Liberal Rethinks Ron Paul
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Sat, 10/27/2007 - 20:14This guy made fun of Ron Paul and his supporters in a video some time back. But guess what? After doing some more thinking and research he has come around to see the bigger picture of what Ron Paul stands for. The Republic is in grave danger. The problem goes beyond the usual, false left/right dichotomy. Let's welcome him and introduce this video to our liberal friends. (He's got 2,877 YouTube subscribers!)
