The Vatican called on Monday for the establishment of a "global public authority" and a "central world bank" to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises.
A major document from the Vatican's Justice and Peace department should be music to the ears of the "Occupy Wall Street" demonstrators and similar movements around the world who have protested against the economic downturn.
The 18-page document, "Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority," was at times very specific, calling, for example, for taxation measures on financial transactions.
The Student Loan Racket: Ron Paul Right Again
Ron Paul was asked about student loan programs, which have made debt slaves out of countless kids, in his excellent interview on Meet the Press. Here’s an excerpt from Rollback, my book from earlier this year, that amplifies his points:
Ron Paul's Texas Straight Talk 10/24/11 - TSA Highway Searches
I am not sure if I got this from the Daily Paul or not. But, when I first read it, I saved it to my computer. I have posted it to Facebook several times and it always stirs up a conversation. This is a great tool to help explain Ron Paul's position on eventually ending student loans.
Texas Rep. Ron Paul and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney also are favorites among Iowans willing to crack open their checkbooks. They have given Paul more than $77,000 in itemized contributions, compared with just more than $67,000 for Romney.
I'm proud to say that I converted my longtime mainstream Republican voting father into a big supporter of Ron Paul! I'm still working on my Grandma and Mom:)
Yesterday, I went into a Ruby Tuesday's for lunch, while sitting at the bar I passed out Ron Paul "no taxation for tips" cards to the wait staff. I was amazed at how the young wait staff was so open to talking about politics and Ron Paul's ideas.
I have a few 1000's of these cards. I plan on handing them out wherever I go. In addition, I call onto the local talk radio channels in Atlanta, and I'm on the radio with Sean Hannity about once a month. It is truly a rush to be able to spread the truth to people!
The ability of people to sense your enthusiasm, and to realize that you are speaking the Truth stronger than it has ever been!
I have never seen so many supporters. The local GOP was shocked! Cain came in second with 25%.

Naomi Wolf is the Author of The End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot
...As Wolf was leaving the event, police officers were ordering the protesters to stay off the street. Reportedly, after hearing this, Wolf told the officers that those gathered "didn't need a permit for a megaphone" and that they weren't actually blocking the sidewalk.
That small offense — or rather, defense — apparently led to the officers cuffing and detaining Wolf and her companion. It's not clear exactly what Wolf has been charged with, however most of the arrests made during the "Occupy" protests have led to misdemeanor charges.

A short introduction of myself, story about a co-worker coming our way, and repping Dr. Paul in an event tomorrowSubmitted by Tensa on Sat, 10/22/2011 - 03:26
First things first: Paul supporter since '08, (sadly after the primaries). This is my first post here even though I have been reading for a few years. I decided to register today after something that happened during work today.
I try to avoid political discussion at work for obvious reasons. I do have a Ron Paul 2012 Bumper sticker on my car. A month or two ago during a weekend shift it was just me and another co-worker named Will working together. I got to the office first so I parked right out front (normally there's several dozen cars in the parking lot). Basically when pulling up to the office you can see my sticker plain as day.
My coworker walks in the office and tells me that he saw the sticker, and proceeds to say "that guy is crazy." I asked him what he meant, and if he could give me reasons why he thought he is crazy. He told me "he has those beady little eyes" (one thing to keep in mind is that this guy jokes around a lot). He basically just told me that he comes off as crazy, my guess is that he mostly just heard things he said in passing followed by media commentary. He would say things like "Obama is my boy" in a joking manner. I basically brushed it off and didn't think much of it.
