“I don't know to what extent I could talk about that order because of the classified briefings I’ve had,” Amash says. “But I will say there are tools that the NSA and other government agencies may be using that would undermine our reform efforts, so that even if we stop one method for obtaining information on Americans in violation of the Constitution, they may still use other methods.”
U.S. Border Patrol agents on the Canada-Alaska border detained a Boy Scout troop for four hours and threatened one boy with a loaded pistol to the head, all because one of the scouts tried to take a picture of the agents.
The incident involving Troop 111 from Iowa occurred over the weekend as the scouts re-entered the U.S. at Alaska after a camping trip to Canada.

“Part of people’s concern is just the sense that around the world, the old order isn’t holding and we’re not quite where we need to be in terms of a new order that’s based on a different set of principles, that’s based on a sense of common humanity, that’s based on economies that work for all people,” Obama said Tuesday, speaking at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser at an Italianate mansion across Lake Washington from the downtown skyline.
I was doing a little reading, and just wanted to throw this list at you. It is a very wise thing to read this list and think about it.

The Obama administration has quietly approved a substantial expansion of the terrorist watchlist system, authorizing a secret process that requires neither “concrete facts” nor “irrefutable evidence” to designate an American or foreigner as a terrorist, according to a key government document obtained by The Intercept.
Good luck finding this anywhere in the news today, whether online or TV...

KIEV (Reuters) - Kiev said two of its fighter jets were shot down over the rebel-held territory in eastern Ukraine on Wednesday, and the missiles that brought them down might have been fired from Russia.

Strange, indeed. Why celebrate the 45th anniversary of The Coolest Thing America Has Ever Done... in private? You would think there would be the usual Executive posing, grandstanding, and credit-taking. White House claims it was a "scheduling issue". And we all know how "transparent" they are. :/
In commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon, President Barack Obama hosted surviving members of the mission’s crew at a private meeting in the Oval Office on Tuesday.
During the White House event, the president met with astronauts Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin, as well as Carol Armstrong, the widow of Neil Armstrong. The famed astronaut died in 2012.
Reporters and television crews were not allowed at the meeting, although photographers were briefly given access to the room. CBS News White House correspondent Major Garrett filed a complaint over the lack of press availability. He founded his criticism on the fact that the Apollo 11 crew members were American heroes whose exploits in space were completely financed by US taxpayers.
