'Sometimes tea parties have unintended consequences.' Weekend Watching - Juan Enriquez: The Untied States of America
Posted November 6th, 2009 by Michael NystromA couple months back I posted a talk by Juan Enriquez from TED called 'The Utimate Reboot.' Here is a breathtaking talk he did in 2006 at PopTech.
This talk is based on his book by the same title, The Untied States of America: Polarization, Fracturing, and Our Future.

At the -28:25 mark, the history of the middle east video that he shows is impossible to read, so I suggest you watch it here at MapsofWar.com
As always, your thoughtful comments & thoughts are appreciated.

JUDAS GOAT - Glenn Beck the controlled opposition (VIDEO)
Posted March 13th, 2009 by Black OpsI know there are many Glenn Beck fans on this Ron Paul forum. But you would do well to understand that GB trashed Dr. Paul and his supporters along with David Horowitz when Ron Paul's candidacy was threatening the status quo.
DP Updated Posting Guidelines
Posted January 7th, 2009 by Michael NystromBelow are the updated posting guidelines for the site. Please review them and add any comments below. Thank you.
-----------
I set up this website/blog/forum in January 2007 as a place for Ron Paul supporters to communicate with each other during Dr. Paul’s 2008 presidential bid. Although the election is over, the passionate community of supporters who believe in freedom, liberty, peace, and justice remains as strong as ever. While Ron Paul did not win the election, no other ex-presidential candidate has as loyal and passionate a following as Dr. Paul has developed. The ongoing purpose of this site has therefore become 1) to keep Dr. Paul’s message and ideas alive, 2) an open forum for the honest discussion of ideas and the search for truth, and 3) to share, practice and spread these ideas as far and wide as possible in the world we live in. This site will thus remain in existence as long as there is a need for it, and as long as there are supporters willing to help keep it going.
This website is my private property. Participating here is a privilege, not a right. Understanding the difference between these concepts is fundamental to understanding the message of freedom and liberty.
Ron Paul supporters, who are you guys?
Posted December 4th, 2007 by jaymacA similar thread was originally started by MashTheGas but I guess it was lost with the server crash. It lasted a few weeks with a few hundred responses.
Who are you guys?
How old are you?
Where are you from?
What do you do?
What’s your political history?
What brought you to Ron Paul?
Answer as much or as little as you want. It's great to see what an eclectic group supports Ron Paul.

Obama, Afghanistan and Marijuana
Posted November 8th, 2009 by MMJ MinistryObama, Afghanistan and Marijuana
This article guides the reader to resources on the Afghan conflict that CNN, FOX etc. aren't telling the "sheep" (e.g. the American People). It argues for immediate withdrawal and explains how Marijuana Legalization would actually help destroy the heroin market which funds both covert US Military operations as well as Islamic Terrorism.
Soldier died in Afghanistan yesterday.
Posted November 8th, 2009 by P. NicholsonI remember my mother talking about Vietnam and how she didnt really think about it much until a high school senior she knew died.
Working outside of two military training bases I knew that it would eventually hit close to home.
Yesterday a soldier was on a search mission, kicked in a door and was shot and killed. He was very close to my co-worker and my buddy is pretty torn up. No children, survived by his wife and parents. A stand up guy...
Im sick and fucking tired of this pointless, useless, wealth and youth draining war. HOW DO WE WIN???
My apologies to the Daily Paul's FEDOR
Posted November 8th, 2009 by BMWJIMFedor,
I must apologize for all of my comments on your post. I have not been in a very good mood since my conversations with a young Marine. I truly meant no harm. I know you must have experienced the same as I have.
Very Suspicious Swine Flu Cases in Isolated Alaska Island
Posted November 8th, 2009 by Brazil4PaulANCHORAGE, Alaska - Suspected swine flu is sweeping a traditional Eskimo whaling village on a remote Alaska island - prompting an urgent medical mission to deliver help.
"Diomede is probably the most isolated place in the United States right now," said David Head, a doctor involved in the effort. "We thought it would be better to go out there and just vaccinate peopple".

Posted November 8th, 2009 by laissez faireOut all day, hoping to come on tonight and see clips from Rand's health care forum today at Valley High School. Really want to see how his ideas play. More than his Dad, I'm betting his career as an eye surgeon will give him healthcare policy gravitas just as the issue is front and center.

Four days later on Friday, November 13th Ron Paul will return to Iowa in another YAL sponsored event.
Live webcasts are in the works - stay tuned for more information. These should be great events.
Term Limits
Posted November 8th, 2009 by KernForCongressI hear a lot about term limits. People of all stripes are vehement about the subject whenever it comes up. I know of a few organizations that won't endorse a candidate unless she signs an oath swearing to introduce term limit legislation in whatever office she's running for. It's a very attractive idea, and I'm not necessarily opposed to it. I understand what it's like to have an incumbent virtually own the rights to a seat. My own representative, Rob Andrews (D-NJ), is in his tenth consecutive term.
Things are getting very interesting around here.......The shoe is dropping...
Posted November 7th, 2009 by takeactionWow.....I have a lot to say...and I do not want to bore you....but this is very important.
First off....as you all probably know I own an Electronics store here in Portland Oregon. We are doing pretty good considering......but I am witnessing first hand all kinds of things happening very fast.
Secondly......several of our big companies that we buy product from....just laid off 30% of their work force. These are some of the biggest electronic companies in the United States. Very Sad.
Next......I have been talking with several Realtor, and Mortgage company owners over the last week, (Heavy Players in the Portland Market) and they are all talking about the doom and gloom in the commercial real estate market that is coming. This is going to be way bigger than the housing collapse.
Myself....I eat lunch at a little Deli about 1 mile from my store. The Deli is in a strip mall that has about 20 stores. Well 85% are empty...and I just learned from the deli owner that the strip mall is going back to the bank next week because the owner can't make his $42,000 a month payment. Ouch.
Next.....I bank at a very good credit union.....about 1 mile from my store. They just moved out of the strip mall that they were in...into a new free standing building. The strip mall that they were in has 10 stores. Well.....now it only has 1 out of 10 rented. It is so sad to see what is going on.
The Chrysler Dealerships near us.....GONE.....
Burger King across the street.....gone..
KFC...gone....
Flea Markets and Check cashing places opening up....
It is a very different world....
On and On and On....
I could keep going.........
The only Positive thing in this entire Chaos is if you have cash....you are King.
We are buying items for our store at 30% to 80% off...and we are able to pass that savings on to the customer which is making us as busy as can be....
Tell me what is going on in your neck of the woods....
War on Terror, 9/11 and the Taliban's Refusal to Sign the Oil/Gas Pipeline Deal.

September 11, 2001 was a day none of us will ever forget. I woke up to an early morning phone call. My friend was screaming for me to turn on BBC News.
The BBC Newsman asked a man dressed in a suit and tie, a man who looked and sounded as if he had an education, if he thought the events at the WTC could be the result of US Foreign Policy in the Middle East.
I'll never forget what this man on the streets of New York said.
