Rally for the Republic - Minneapolis, MN - 9.2.08

Is it the gray hair? The wrinkles? Is it that distracting habit of licking the upper lip? I have wracked my brain trying to come up with the reason why the Republican party has such an aversion to Ron Paul. However, the only conclusion I keep coming back to is the simplest, most obvious one. Ron Paul is anti-government.
Some have used the words "eccentric" and "flaky" to describe him. However, when one considers the candidates who opposed him and watches footage of the 2008 debates, this holds no merit

I found this to be quite interesting when searching for him on wikipedia ... to read that he was a publicly spoken anti-semetic because he claimed that the Jews conspired to control the American Economy through Banking and the Federal Reserve.

It also says that he supported Hitler and Nazi policies against the Jews.

Rampant anti-semetic ... or something gone wrong?

What do you think? I don't know much about him besides what I've read on wikipedia and heard.

If anything ... a huge critic of the Federal Reserve being an anti-semetic? That is horrible for us.

Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales have been indicted on state charges involving federal prisons in a South Texas county that has been a source of bizarre legal and political battles under the outgoing prosecutor.

The indictment returned Monday has not yet been signed by the presiding judge, and no action can be taken until that happens.

I just wanted to let anybody who might be looking for Jesse Ventura bumper stickers after the Rally for the Republic that some are finally coming out which are attractive enough to put on your car. I personally will add a Jesse sticker next to my Ron Paul stickers because I'm getting tired of the GOPs games and I feel a third party deserves a chance next year, and believe he has what it takes to get elected. If the U.S. is still around in 2012 I'll be voting for him.

A pair of top Federal Reserve officials on Tuesday highlighted risks to the U.S. economy from the global credit crisis and liquidity squeeze, but did not hint at more interest rate cuts as a solution.

Janet Yellen, President of the San Francisco Fed, was especially blunt, saying the U.S. economy appeared to be in a recession and would likely contract in the fourth quarter after near-flat growth in the third.

I was lucky enough to be a guest at the Republican National Convention to an Alternate from Texas. My main goal was to video tape the entire convention and then we would use the tapes to create training tapes for the process involved.

Since video cameras were out-lawed at the RNC, I instead interviewed people at both the Rally for the Republic and a lot of people that were in St. Paul protesting the RNC.

"I just finished up a conference call on the production and manufacturing of the official Rally for the Republic DVD’s. I am so excited about this project and you should be too. As much as I have enjoyed the YouTube’s and the CSPAN stuff, we went all out to make sure we captured these events in the most compelling way possible. We had 3 cameras in the Target Center including the sweeping boon camera seen drifting over the crowd. The footage is fantastic and no one has seen it yet.

So I wrote up a report on my trip to Minnesota. It's on my blog here. It's really long. Nystrom has a cameo in it. I hope he's not too mad at me after he reads it. I plead the truth as my defense. :-P

Well I had the priviledge of working with Freedom.TV to produce some videos and was at the rally with some amazing access.

What I noticed the most about it was that we don't agree on all of the issues. There are some there who are 9/11 truthers, pro-immigration, pro-abortion, evangelical christian or athiest but those things don't matter because we can all be adults and listen to each other and even though we don't agree we strongly support the broader message of freedom because we know that things are too desperate to not be mature about this.

I think Tucker Carlson really is a libertarian and he really does like Ron Paul but he's also a deeply insecure person and he's afraid that if he shows anyone who he really is that they will think he's stupid. I noticed this when I was at the rally he would say something that would be half a compliment and half an insult about anything Ron Paul related. I mean, look at that thing he did with the hookers thing when Paul was running for president. Carlson wanted to give him exposure but felt like if he didn't also act like his presidency was a joke, people would think he was weird.
