• What?!!!! Oh, HELL, NO!

If she were my daughter, I'd be at that school raising all kinds of hell and I wouldn't stop there either! How dare they?!!! No wonder you told her not to do it. I'd have said the same thing. I find this to be a frightening situation and I'd get my kid out of that school and into a private school or homeschool asap! God only knows what else they've drummed into her head! God help parents today to keep their parental rights and responsibilities towards their children.

  • This is a beautiful thread, Danton.

Much love and healing coming through it. So many people here are hurting and could get a bit of peace just by clicking on your post. I hope they do.

  • Thank you, Paul.

I will pass the information along.

  • Shoud he survive, I will talk to him about that,

so he can do the research on it.

If it's never genetic, why are the genes always a factor? Both parents have to be carriers in order for the disease to manifest. As far back as anyone knows, no one in either family suffered from this disease. He's been taking selenium and fish oil for several years already.

  • Asked in school? How old is she?

I agree with bytejockey's comment (below). It's a personal choice and it shouldn't be determined by anyone else, much less by government or pushed by government schools.

My grandson's life is hanging in the balance as I type this. He has Cystic Fibrosis and is in desperate need of a lung transplant. He'd have no chance of survival whatsoever, if people didn't donate their organs. http://www.dailypaul.com/323741/request-for-prayers-from-the...

So, of course, I think it's a good idea. I just don't want anyone coerced into donating their organs, legally or illegally.

  • Well, thank you, my old friend.

Not only is the Catholic bashing here "silly", what's worse is that it is so ignorant. Heck, even Sunday Catholics don't know enough about their religion to fill a thimble, let alone what the bigots (don't) know about it.

As far as the Jesuit conspiracy stuff, well, read Malachi Martin's book, "The Jesuits". He was one of them (and he was a Vatican insider) and blew the whistle on their operation. His premature death is still an open matter for conspiracy theorists.

  • Amen to THAT!

Thank you for actually reading the article and spelling it out for a few people here.

(Sorry but, I'm still pissed about a couple of comments some noobs made to this thread and am having trouble controlling my Italian temper right now.)

  • If you read my comment to the end, you'd know it wasn't

about global warming. It was about taking something completely out of context and using it as an argument to disparage my religion.

And yes, the bigotry is shining through here now, too, in the comments which follow and in the down votes to my comment. All I'm asking for is for a little more intelligent criticism and a lot less bigotry. I even realize the good people here don't even recognize their prejudice when it comes to discussions of this nature.

  • Nice find, pawnstorm12!

I watched a couple of interesting videos on your link. In the second one, they found a book in a time capsule from, I think they said, 116 years ago. They have to open it in a protected environment, as the air could damage the contents.

People were wondering what message the book might have for us. The thought that immediately popped into my head about what that message is that our forefathers left for us was: "Beware the Military Industrial Complex!".

  • What a beautiful message!

Tears started down my cheeks around the 2.5 minute mark.

I can't stand all the commercialism this time of year. This is the season for spreading love and good will. Don't need to buy a bunch of stuff to do that. Sometimes the simplest thing is the most needed and most appreciated thing (like that kiss on the forehead).

  • It's a heartache that many grandparents have experienced.

I will pray for you and your family. Try to accept the situation and put it in God's Hands and then put all negativity out of your thoughts. This is a situation that requires faith in God and time. Anything else you try to do would probably just backfire on you. Prayers going out to you, Misfit4Peace.

  • When you put that oath in the proper context and in the

proper timeframe, you will understand for what purpose the Jesuit Order was formed. It was formed solely to be defenders of the Pope. Lots of holy and secular wars were going on and the Vatican was a strong temporal/political power in the world at that time.

Today it is a very, very different situation. During the 1970s Liberation Theology was all the rage in Latin America and the Jesuits were the source of that, in total defiance of the Pope. They abandoned their role as the Pope's defenders and became his most powerful enemy from inside the Church. From that time on, the head of the Jesuit Order was known as the "Black Pope", because of the black robes they wear (as opposed to the white robe the Pope wears). It was only a matter of time before they took complete political control of the Vatican, as has now happened with the election of the first Jesuit as Pontiff.

Honest criticism is one thing (and there is a lot to be critical about the political maneuverings within the Church) but, bigotry is quite another. To be honest, it really angers me to see so much ignorant bigotry toward the Catholic Church on this site in general. Yes, there are many things to criticize but, do it with intelligence and with actual knowledge of Catholic philosophy and teachings. Try reading Malachi Martin's books, if you want facts to back up your arguments. His book, "The Jesuits" is outstanding and will give you loads of real, honest ammunition.

There is a reason the Church is the target of attacks by evil forces (from without and within) at this particular time. Be careful about which side you take (if you even have to choose a side in the first place), because you just might unknowingly find yourself on the side of evil.

And yes, "global warming is total bullsh*t".

  • Add bilberry to the list of other things which will slow down

or stop the progression. My husband's (originally Chinese trained) eye doctor had examined my husband's eyes and was surprisingly pleased that the disease had not progressed since his last appointment. When I told the doctor that I was giving my husband bilberry capsules for the Macular Degeneration, with a twinkle in his eye, he gave me a sly smile and a slight nod of his head. He said nothing about it but, it was very obvious he approved.

Blueberries help, too, since both berries are from the same family. But, blueberries don't work as well as bilberries. You can use bilberry tea or capsules.

  • Oh, yes. He is joking.

Actually, it was scathing sarcasm. Michael has made it very clear that he has no intention of turning this site into a Daily Rand. He's done; probably to a crisp. Nevertheless, the E3VOLution continues; just on other fronts.

  • Actually, it was 40+ years ago but, don't tell anybody.

The fact that I remembered so much of the story is a good idea of just how good the story is. When you see it, you'll see how obscure that line you came up with is. I'm absolutely amazed there's a waiting list for that 40+ year old film. Anyway, if I've judged your tastes correctly, I think that particular film is right up your alley. Let us know how it hit you, after you've finally seen it. ;)

  • Speaking of time, Michael, did you have time to watch

"The Sting" yet? You brought that film up in another post and I had an unrelenting urge to see it again. It was that good. Would you believe I liked it this time even more than I did 30 (yikes!!!) years ago? Anyway, thanks for the wonderful treat! Hope you enjoy that film as much as I did.
